Friday Writing Prompt

When setting a scene or the tone of a scene we tend to reach for visual details first. All the senses are important, of course, when we're trying to convey what it was like for a particular character to be in a particular situation but what we often forget is to explore the sounds of a scene and how noise – repetitive or insistent, intrusive or hard-to-catch, soothing or unsettling – may infiltrate or affect action, character and atmosphere.
Use the sounds suggested by the pictures below to start a story or scene, or add them as new elements to scenes in your work in progress.
